Visiting Japan this summer? In July 2025, McDonald’s Japan has released a super cute, limited-time nugget pack featuring everyone’s favorite—Pokémon!
With Pikachu-themed packaging and the two new sauces, this is a must-try for fans of all ages.
What’s inside?

For a limited time from July 23 to September 2, 2025, McDonald’s Japan is offering a special 15-piece Chicken McNuggets deal—not only with exclusive Pokémon packaging, but also at a discounted price!
Normally priced at ¥740, you can now get the 15-piece nugget pack for just ¥490 during this summer campaign.
Even better? You get to choose from two limited-time dipping sauces:
- Garlic & Cheese Sauce – A rich and creamy cheese sauce with a savory garlic kick.
- Chinese-style Yurinchi Sauce – A tangy soy-based sauce with hints of ginger and sesame oil.
You can also stick with the classic favorites:
- Barbecue Sauce
- Mustard Sauce
Whether you’re dipping nuggets or fries, you can enjoy mixing and matching these sauces. (Yes—you can even purchase extra sauces individually starting from ¥40!)
The nuggets come in one of three Pokémon-themed box designs, adding a fun surprise to every meal.
You can see the official announcement here (McDonald’s Japan)—note that the page is in Japanese only.
If you’re using Chrome, you can right-click anywhere on the page and select “Translate to English” for an instant translation.
Where to get it?

You can enjoy these Pokémon-themed Chicken McNuggets at most McDonald’s locations across Japan—no reservation or coupon needed. Just walk in and order!
However, please note that the special ¥490 campaign for the 15-piece nuggets is not available at certain locations, such as:
- Airports
- Highway service areas (service/rest stops)
- Theme parks
- Delivery app orders (like Uber Eats)
So if you’re hoping to grab a box before your flight or while traveling by car, be sure to check the price at the specific store. Still, even without the discount, the limited-time sauces and Pokémon packaging make it worth trying!
Travel Tips
If you’re visiting Japan with kids—or you’re just a big Pokémon fan—this limited-time meal is a fun and affordable way to enjoy Japanese fast food culture.
Here are a few tips:
- Try ordering in-store instead of through delivery apps, since some promotions may not apply online.
- Check the box design before opening—you might want to snap a photo before taking that first bite!
- Don’t worry if you don’t speak Japanese—most McDonald’s in Japan have picture menus, and staff are used to helping international customers.
